“Honestly, I can’t say that one individual is the same as the other. I’ve been a social worker for 30 years. I support patients and their families after a cardiac event. I offer one on one counselling for individuals as well as families, and we have a stress management class. What we’re realizing is the huge impact of not only our physical well-being but also emotional and psychological well-being on our overall health. The heart disease does not only affect the individual, but it also put huge stress on the caregiver as well. Each individual – yeah, sometimes people have similar experiences, but I think it’s the uniqueness of each individual that really keeps me interested and engaged in the work that I do. I do feel like I contribute to the community.”
